A Christmas message to you all
Christmas is not a time for dwelling on past disappointments and frustrations, but a time to ignite the spirit of celebration for all we have achieved. This season of hope invites us to reflect on the extraordinary accomplishments of our fight against this ill-conceived pylon corridor. What an incredible journey we’ve shared, and the remarkable people we’ve met along the way. Through this struggle, my faith in humanity has been repeatedly restored. It is in these moments of unity, when communities rise for a common and just cause, that we witness the very best of humanity.
This Christmas, I urge you to smile. Let your hearts overflow with pride as you remember the countless times our incisive questions and deep knowledge forced SSEN and Government Ministers onto the defensive. From Westminster to Holyrood, and within the boardrooms of SSEN, let there be no doubt: our expertise and unwavering determination have made them realise we will not be silenced.
The battle ahead remains long, but find solace in this: every leaflet handed out on a cold night, every letter written with conviction, every tear of frustration shed, is a testament to your unwavering commitment. Know in your heart that you have given your absolute best.
From the depths of my heart, I thank each and every one of you for your sacrifices. You have placed your community before yourselves, fighting for a future for generations to come, a future they can be proud of, regardless of the ultimate outcome.
One last, but vital, action before Christmas: please submit your objection to the substations.
May you all have a truly peaceful and happy Christmas.
